Chris Sackett, Bell Helmets says this about motocross  "The sport of motocross is pretty violent, it's pretty aggressive". At the motocross track, you need to wear your gear so a helmet, pants, boots, gloves, jersey, and goggles. If you don't wear this stuff you could get hurt. If you don't wear your goggles you could get hit with dirt or a rock in the eye. That is not fun. Also if you don't wear your moto pants its not the biggest deal but they are padded so falling does not hurt as much. Gloves are pretty nice to wear cause you can get blisters if you don't wear them and blisters are not fun. But your most important piece of gear is your helmet cause it saves your life and prevents you from getting a brain injury. In motocross, you need to wear a helmet to protect your head from impact. Bell Helmets is developing technology to make helmets safer and easier to get off if you crash hard. They have EPS technology which protects against high-speed im...

They use them to see how a roof is on a building before staging ladders the drones. also have a gas detector which is us...

The TED talk by Clay Shirky, How Social Media Can Make History, discusses how social media can create instant communication about world events. This leads me to think about how technology and communication of my passion for motocross. Current technology in motocross is advancing in a way that helps riders train to get better. Videos have been used for a long time but now with GPS and two-way helmet communication, riders are getting better each and every day. Using video and GPS together helps the rider with preparation and safety. By using GPS they can see the track even when they are not there. With the two-way communication, the rider has a headset on to talk with coach and trainer what is ahead of them on the track. Without this, the rider would need to finish his lap and then get feedback about what they need to fix. The safety feature with the two way communication the coach can tell the rider right way what's going on with the track right away. So it is really better for th...
